Now that Music of the Vampire has been out awhile, what did you guys think of the new movie? Was it a great musical, or did it suck like a vampire?

  1. Personally, i had much more expectations from this movie but finally, it was just a good one. Nothing less, nothing more!

  2. Some musicals annoy me, but only the cliches. This one really entertained me and I couldn't stop smiling. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I think that's how you spell thoroughly...

  3. The movie was great, the songs were awesome, especially "Scooby and Me" ( 13th Ghost, it's a best friend song, Shaggy has had Scooby-Doo as a pet since his childhood, he loves his Great Dane!!!).
I also liked "Do You Want to Live Forever?" with Bram and Daphne.
I can't wait to buy it on DVD in Greek (I'm from Greece, you know). I'm waiting in anticipation to watch the "Scooby-Doo Vampire Sing-A-Long" special feature.

P.S.: 1.Why does the 13th Ghost write the same things again and again? (There's nothing wrong about you, dude).
    2. I heard that Bram will be back for Daphne in "Big Top Scooby-Doo!". Is it true?

  4. scoob16, I'm also from Greece and i've already bought this DVD (in greek). I have to tell you that all the songs have been translated in greek and that's the first time (I think). Anyway, even in greek the songs are great but there are some of them which I liked better in english.

  5. Okay, first let me apologize for my epic fail at typing a post. Somehow my entire post was copied and then pasted right in the middle of itself. I was certain that I had proofread that as well. Again, sorry.

If the webmaster of this website could delete that last post of mine, please do so. Thank you in advance.

Here is what I meant to post:

I voted that it was great because that’s the closest to how I felt about the movie. I really think that it was just really good, not great. The Scooby & Me song really knocked it down a few pegs. Not only was it too lovey-dovey between two males, even if one is a dog, but it also had Shaggy being dismissive of the rest of the gang as if they don’t care about him. The following scenes show the rest of the gang worried about where they’ve been all that time. And before that Daphne showed some really good friendship qualities with Shaggy and Scooby. So how could Shaggy think she didn’t care about him?

That said, the rest of the movie was great. It seems the team that handles the Scooby-Doo movies for WB is finally seeing the Shaphne light. Phantosaur had Daphne showing genuine concern and care for Shaggy and his stress problem, and this movie had them singing along together in harmony with an arm around each other’s shoulders. This was done again at the end. Then somewhere in the middle of the movie Shaggy was pretty much the only one keeping Daphne from getting kidnapped. Scooby helped too of course, which is great. I like seeing Scooby actually DO things in a series that has his name in the title, imagine that. The Frephne in those movies was almost nonexistent. Shaggy pretty much saved the day again, and the villains weren’t half bad. The only thing about the plot that I didn’t like is that we didn’t actually see them enjoy this vacation they all set out to have. And why would Velma think going to a vampire convention would be a vacation at all when she knows how Shaggy and Scooby get when they encounter such things? That’s like telling them they’re all going on a picnic and then driving to an old cemetery at dusk. Maybe after that they can have a slumber party in some dark and broken down abandoned house that’s teetering on the edge of a 100 foot cliff. Here guys let me read you a bedtime story out of my Edgar Alen Poe novel.

But even in spite of Velma and Fred still tagging along in these movies I am still looking forward to Big Top Scooby-Doo. Again, the fact that it doesn’t involve evil clowns is a letdown, but it still looks interesting. In fact, the werewolves from the preview remind me of the carnival level of the Scooby-Doo video game for the Super Nintendo. Maybe there’ll be at least one evil clown in this movie as well, as was the case with that level.

The greek songs SUCKED except for "Scooby and Me".
    I really liked the Sing-A-long.

  7. To be honest, I cared less about the relationships. I was excited for the film solely because the whole gang sang for once and not just Daphne.

Which reminds me...Warner Bros should totally make a disco/70's-themed Scooby movie, where at the end the gang performs "Get Dancin" by Disco Tex & the Sex-o-Lettes. That would be an awesome and fitting Scooby musical. Hell, I bet Frank Welker (as Fred) would do a spot-on impression of Monti Rock III!

  8. I found the songs entertaining, but out of place. Scooby-Doo isn't a musical in any sense. It excels in chase scenes. Because of the theme and premise of the film I found it thoughly disappointing and unpleasent to watch, not to mention I'm still not a fan of the latest new look. I feel I have a negative outlook on the film because we're supposed to be greatful it's still going(?), but I much prefered the WNSD era of films, but even that would of probably got old like the other eras and that's why they probably necessitated a new look and writers.

One question though. Do you think the new crew involved have kept the essence of Scooby-Doo alive?

  9. ^Anyday.

It probably got delayed like last time. I haven't seen any advertisements for it.

  10. Can't wait for the next SDMI episode! I've heard lots of things (May 13th/20th, summer 2012). But I don't care what others say, SDMI isn't a rip-off. One day, season 2 will come out on DVD (most likely in Part 1 & Part 2).
Hey, does anyone else wants an episode where Scooby-Pericles showdown? That would be awesome!
    Anyway, I'll just wait...

  11. Well, obviously it's not going to be either May 13 or 20.

  12. I watched it, and although I wasn't exactly wowed I wasn't depressed either. I agree the animation was very well done, and yes done with monsters was stuck in my head for weeks, but Scooby Doo... Musical? That's like a Star Trek musical, that I already know the name to, Star Wreck. : /

  13. I wouldn't exactly call it a musical though. It was more like a sing-a-long. It's similar to how the Disney movies have songs placed throughout.

  14. @ The 13th Ghost: Yeah, that's sounds more accurate.

  15. SDMI returns on July 10th according to TV.com

    Remember, that's July, not June.

  16. "New" episodes have also been advertised for June 3rd in the UK.

  17. Correct. In another thread here I mentioned that the UK is getting new episodes first.

  18. Due to a massive flub a new episode, Chapter 28, is airing right now in the UK!

  19. Even more so, according to this site: http://www.bleb.org/tv/channel.html?ch=boomerang&all&day=-1 it began yesterday although I believe the 2nd episode premiered today.

  20. ^^^It was in the thread about SDMI returning. The one with the picture of the gang in the MM and the green mist from the first episode.

  21. The date of Big Top Scooby-Doo!'s UK release is October 22 according to Amazon UK http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scooby-Doo-Big-Top-DVD/dp/B0083SEZIO

  22. @ 13th Ghost: REALLY THOUGH! Your guess is as good as mine. And I was expecting this to happen anyway, but with Canada.

  23. @ 13th Ghost: It happens sometimes. I guess this UK "co-production" finally paid off.

  24. Hmm. Just seems like an American cartoon should air in America at least at the same time as in other countries if not before.

Japan releases their cartoons and video games there first. The only time I remember them not doing that was with some of the Metroid games, since that series is way more popular here than in Japan.

Maybe Scooby-Doo is more popular in those countries. Better ratings? Grabbing better ratings data from those countries might net them a better payout from CN.

  25. I was never interested in looking on Tumblr and the like, but I guess it paid off this time as SDMI season 2 will premiere in the US July 10, 2012.

    Source: http://scoobydoomysteryincorporated.tumblr.com/

Unfortunately it only covers the first five episodes.

  26. ^^^ In the main body of the page it did say it wasn't set, and that's obviously true as the list on the left hand side now says "subject to change".

  27. Hey guys, Episodes 4 and 5 have been released on Youtube. I wouldn't advise watching them yet because 2 or 3 haven't been uploaded. The "Previously on Mystery Inc" gives away the villain of the Cry baby clown! I really want episode 2 and 3!!! D: It's annoying!

    Likes(0)Dislikes(0)
  28. Yes, it is, Jesse.
Anyway, the title for epiosde 2 is "The House of the Nightmare Witch", where the gang finds the 3rd piece of the Planispheric Disc and episode 3 is "The Night the Clown Cried II: Tears of Doom!". It looks like Baylor was Crybaby Clown, after all!
SHAME ON YOU HOTNER FOR BETRAYING DAPHNE!!!

    Likes(0)Dislikes(0)
  29. ^Yeah, there's a plothole with that though. In the first episode of the season Hotner was with Daphne on a date and then at her house with her and her mom while Crybaby Clown struck the city hall with a stink bomb. This in confirmed when the gang goes straight from city hall to Daphne's house and finds that Hotner was there with her. How did Hotner break away from Daphne during the date, drive all the way to city hall, use the stink bomb, then drive all the way back to Daphne's house, change out of the costume and hide the hotrod all before the gang got there and without Daphne ever noticing that he was gone?

  30. Hey there Scooby fans, just so you know, after the release of "Scooby Doo! Laff-A-Lympics: Spooky Games"(July 17th), Warner Bros. will release in October (I think the 16th) a similar to "Scooby Doo! 13 Spooky Tales Around the World" (May 15th). It will be called "Scooby Doo! 13 Spooky Tales: Holiday Chills and Thrills" including another never-before seen episode!!!
    EPISODES INCLUDE:
    1. Scooby Doo! Haunted Holidays
    2. Scooby Doo! Christmas
    3. Tenderbigfoot
    4. Snow Job too Small
    5. The Nutcracker Scoob, Part I
    6. The Nutcracker Scoob, Part II
    7. A Scary Night with a Snow Beast Fright
    8. Scooby Doo Meets Laurel & Hardy/The Ghost of Bigfoot
    9. There's No Creature Like Snow Creature
    10. Rocky Mountain Yiiii
    11. That's Snow Ghost
    12. Whatta Shocking Ghost
    13. Toy Scary Boo

Well, "Tenderbigfoot" is not actually set in winter, but in summer and "Toy Scary Boo" is totally irrelevant.
If you ask me, it's an extended combination of "Scooby Doo! Winter Wonderdog" and "Scooby Doo! and the Snow Creatures". I think they should have replaced "Tenderbigfoot" with "Alaskan King Coward" and "Toy Scary Boo" with "Scooby's Swiss Miss". Anyway, hope they translate it in Greek so I can buy it, too.
Lucky Scooby fans in America (Scooby Doo 4ever should know how I feel). They haven't released , and possibly they will never do. Same goes for "Scooby Doo! Laff-A-Lympics: Spooky Games".
Can someone answer some questions I have about "Scooby Doo! 13 Spooky Tales Around the World"?
    1. Does the back cover mention the destinations?
    2. What's the theme song in "Moonlight Madness"?
    3. What about "Ghosts of the Ancient Astronauts, Parts I & II"? Does it go like:
    PART I:Theme song - title - episode - credits
    PART II:Theme song - title - episode - credits.

    Thank you so much.

  31. There's no such episode as "Scooby Doo! Haunted Holidays" so I don't know where they got that from?

    Likes(0)Dislikes(0)
  32. He said that it was a never-before-seen episode, maybe sometime they made it and never aired it on a show like, for example, What's New Scooby-Doo, or maybe it could be a TV Special that was never aired on TV (but it would probably have to be as long as an episode) or the other possibility is that it was made specially for the DVD. Also I've checked out Scooby-Doo! Laff-A-Lympics: Spooky Games and it says it features a brand-new episode called Spooky Games so I am guessing that the third possibility makes the most sense

  33. Oh my God!
I was just checking if SDMI season 2 episode 6 were out and came across sth called "Watch Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated Season 2 Episode 6".
    False alarm, it was "Nightfright"...
Some people still believe episodes 14-26 are season 2...
