So any predictions on what other wrestling icons might appear?

  1. Glad they're using more classic wrestlers this time around. I'm oddly looking forward to this. I mean the first one was silly beyond belief, but they made it work in its own way.

Also, heads up to everybody it looks like there might be a Scooby Doo Lego theme coming next year.

It's not confirmed officially yet though.

  2. ...and any enthusiasm I had for it has now dried up.
Only way it could be worse would be if Dwayne was in it.
I guess Hogan needs something else to bury, steal the spotlight from, and claim he helped since he can't do it to young wrestlers anymore.

  3. If any of you have a Twitter account, maybe you could consider favouriting and/or retweeting this Tweet about WHV releasing a complete series of Pup and What's New. It may not making any difference if you do, BUT they might think it's worth their attention if you give the Tweet attention.

  4. Isn't Pup and What's new already available in season sets? I don't see why they need to be released again in complete series sets. With as lazy as the home video market has become all they'd end up doing would be to put all the existing discs into one package (As has been done for many shows that get full series rereleases).

I mean I'd be interested if they put it on Blu-ray (Pup could definitely benefit from a little restoration, as it looks a bit washed out at times on the DVD's), but otherwise my existing DVD's are fine. I'd much prefer a restored where are you on Blu or Mystery incorporated (Which was made with HD TV's in mind).

  5. I have neither on DVD. In my opinion, it seems like a waste of money to buy them as individual sets when buying them as whole collecions would be more worthwhile (unlike GaC which will probably not go beyond those two volumes, even if W could push it along).

The entire series of Pup is no longer than Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!: The Complete 1st and 2nd Seasons, and What's New is roughly the same as Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!: The Complete Series. Obviously, WHV would put themselves out by doing a complete WAY, but they could very easily do a complete series of both of those other shows for the reasons I've stated. Especially Pup. We all know that will bend over backwards to release volume sets as far as they can go (which is forever), but actually providing something we would actually want to see is where they choke.

  6. What's New, Scooby-Doo? is available to watch in HD on iTunes and Amazon (it varies depending on where you come from), but I doubt they'd actually release that on Blu. Even if they did, that, too, would be in individual sets because they looking at the people who would only pay out for that, and not the more expensive complete series set. This is why they won't spend the money on a DVD complete series set because they probably don't think it's as profitable (or perhaps even marketable) as the original is.

  7. It's not like there's twenty volumes per show, Pup has two volumes to complete the series and What's new has three. Looking around on the internet they already sell the entire What's new packaged together for $30, so the complete series does exist already, they just happen to be in three separate boxes (Which if you've ever bought a complete series set for a longer run show they actually just take the older volumes and put them into a cardboard slipcover). And the two Pup volumes are only $15 a pop, so ultimately you could complete both series for $60 right now. They are widely available and pretty cheap.

Now if the What's new complete series included all the movies and special episodes than yes I'd agree it would be worthwhile to make. But the reality is that if WBV decided to make a complete series set they'd just take the already existing discs and slap them into a new box, maybe with a bonus disc (If even that) and that would be it. So unless WBV actually intends to invest time and money into making a set in a superior format and with a lot of new special features there's really not much reason for complete sets.

  8. On the one hand, yes, they've already put it out there, but they've done it in individual season sets. It's so much easier to have it in one one complete set, especially those who don't already have it. It seems a little ridiculuous that they have the first 2 seasons of WAY together (which in reality is really just the original series) at 25 episodes. Then they split Pup into two sets with 27 episodes. TWO extra episodes means that it has to be in two sets. It's so frivolous when they already had to do 8 volumes before that. They made the second season collection sound so incredible that they put 3 seasons together (when no one knows officially if there's even a 4th season), when those 3 seasons were so incredibly short to begin with. It made so much sense in that regard, but it would've made so much more sense to just release it in its entirety which, again, is only two episodes more than WAY.

You already have it, but don't knock it for people who don't, or for those that might want to upgrade.

  9. They could have put the entire series out in one set, but there's a reason they didn't do that. It all comes down to demand. SDWAY was clearly popular enough to release together for an expensive price tag multiple times. Pup and What's new were not slam dunks in the way that the original series was, they are much newer and thus don't have the same fan base as the original show. Ultimately the way they were released was done because they didn't see the demand for a full series set. If they did, we'd have it.

  10. I'm not knocking anything or anyone. I'm merely stating that the entire series is available and that with three purchases you'd have two complete series for a good price. It's not as if these shows are out of print or hard to come by. They're widely available and with these sitting on shelves across the country WBV is unlikely to release it again unless something drastic happens. I'd love for all the Scooby series to be rereleased in a superior format with tons of bonus features, but unfortunately that doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon, so I suggest you make do with what is actually available.

  11. Perhaps that sounds logical to you, but for me personally, buying 1 entire set of a series is more worthwhile. That's just me. If you're happy with buying a show in whatever availibility it is in then that's great for you, and great(ly justified) for WHV, but not for me. I don't think it's worth the money or space in how it's released at the moment.

I'm also not asking for special features, I'm just simply asking for those discs to be put together in one box. You don't have to favourite or retweet what I was requesting, if that's what's bothering you. It's not a life or death decision.

  12. Thanks for the links, but I can look those up for myself. And if you're so interested in me buying these, you could've at least made them linkable, especially since that's been revealed how thanks to SS.

  13. I don't care if you buy them or not. And I don't tweet, so I wasn't bothered by that either. I was just stating that they're available, and for a good price. If you don't like the fact that it's not in one box, fine.
