  1. Well, it's actually hard to find season sets for series with Scrappy, especially those whose names include his. Plus, compilation sets often have a new special.

  2. After coming to the conclusion that a lot of the series since the shorts have questionable content (i.e. real monsters) I actually find the compilation sets handy, at least when said sets contain okay material.

  3. I'm surprised anyone has yet to write, "BOTH!"

I prefer season sets. That way you get all the episodes you want at once. With comps you may get episodes you don't want, but you HAVE to buy them along with the ones you do want.

I got the Christmas comp for the Scrappy episodes and got a few episodes that I either didn't care about or already had on a season set.

Comps are lazy. They take episodes out of season sets and resell them. What is that?

Compilation sets such as Ghosts/Pirates etc. are lazy indeed. But face it, my friend, series like "The New Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Show" or Puppy Hour will never eb released in seasons. Why? Cause of Scrappy. Personally, I don't mind him.

  5. I've always liked Scrappy. Never understood the Scrappy hatred, and I don't think the Scrappy haters understood it either. I think people just started bashing him as a fad and that grew into a mass misconception that Scrappy was a bad character.

Why WB won't release the Scrappy era episodes is baffling. They released 13 Ghosts, which had Scrappy, so why nothing else?

They released 13 Ghosts because WHV avoided showing, or even mentioning Scrappy. Look, here's the back cover, which everyone knows:

If you notice, although Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne and Scrappy were together from the very first minutes of the series pilot, in the begining of the description, Scrappy is nowhere to be found. Later on, they mention Flim-Flam - who is hated by fans as Scrappy - and Vincent Van Ghoul (impossible not to mention a character "voiced and inspired by the incomparable Vincent Price").
The only time Scrappy appeared on a front cover was in "Happy Spook-Day Scooby-Doo!" (http://static1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130702232147/scoobydoo/images/3/3b/Happy_Spook-Day_Scooby-Doo!.png). As for back cover descriptions, he was mentioned in "The Richie Rich/Scooby-Doo Show: Volume 1".

  7. Yes, I know they neglected to mention Scrappy on the 13GSD packaging, but 13GSD still featured Scrappy. That's my point. If they're worried about people seeing Scrappy then why release anything with him in it? If they don't want to use him to advertise, then they could just release those seasons but neglect to mention him, like they did with 13GSD. They would have to group New Scooby & Scrappy-Doo Show into The New Scooby-Doo Mysteries though. And Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo Show would have to be called something else.
