Chapter 49: Dark Night of the Hunters: The gang goes south of the border in attempt to search for The Heart of the Jaguar.
Okay guys, just finished watching it and I must say, tisepisode rally blew my mind! I loved the whole episode, and the fact that Velma is starting to realise there's more than just clues and facts, is awesome. The last scene between Velma and her mom, for some reason hs given me the impression that Velma still loves Shaggy but decded not to give him a chance because she did not want to end up hurt again. Am I the only one who thinks that those two will end up together on the next three chapters? Plus loved the temple's style and all of Scooby's antics on it.
3 epiodes to go... make your bets on how the final battle will be and which characters will be there to stop Nibiru and Pericles!
My guesses are that the original Mystery Inc will finally turn against Pericles. That Cassidy will come back. That someone will sacrifice themselves to save the others. And finally that the town will be renamed to move on from it's cursed path and Shaggy will suggest Coolsville.
Those all seem like series finale things.
I hope they don't do Shelma again. It didn't work last time and Velma needs to realize this.
Also, I'm sure it will all come down to Fred to save the day. He's clearly the creator's pet in this version.
Also, to add to the above post, the ancient counterpart to Fred was holding the spear with the heart of the jaguar. So yeah, Fred will probably be the one to use the spear to kill Nibiru.
I agree with Strangely, changing the name of the town to Coolsville would be cool (pun intended, xD) and it would also put he series in par with the rest of the series.
But I would like for Shaggy an Velma to en up together... at least in this series. It's not fair that Fred and Daphne end up together, and then Shaggy and Velma would be alone (I even forecast that Scooby will tell them both to just give it another shot, that would be awesome).
Still, tonight airs the first part of the series finale, so we must be ready foranything- And you're probably right, Fred will probably be the one to destroy Nibiru, although I would like to see the whole gang piercing that thing together, to prove that they might have been led to that, but that their friendship was always true and real.
Actually, no it wouldn't, since Pup and WNSD both state that their hometown was called Coolsville during the time when they were children.
Shaggy and Velma should not be together simply because they are alone. They could find others outside the group if they had to. Seeing as how a Shaggy + Daphne relationship doesn't have time to play out, I think it would be funny to end it this way:
Velma starts to realize she still likes Shaggy, gets Scooby's blessing first, he gives it to her, and then as she's about to ask Shaggy to be her boyfriend again...
...Googie runs up and tongue kisses Shaggy! Then Shaggy introduces Velma to his girlfriend. Oh how the Shelma fans would rage.
Well they met a real ghost in PNSD, so the continuity wasn't great to begin with.
Plus Crystal Cove is on the water, Coolsville was not (Not to mention that Coolsville was a differently styled city as well). So really things were never going to completely line up in the continuity anyways.
Personally I think the Scooby universe is like DC/Marvel and there's multiple continuities, so regardless of what happens I'm sure fans of SDMI will find some continuity for it to be a part of.
I regard the Hanna-Barbera version as the only canon version, and PNSD is not part of the canon for obvious reasons.
But PNSD was a Hanna-Barbera production, all Scooby Doo series up until WNSD were.
I know PNSD was H-B, but it still isn't part of the canon. Nor is anything after that, such as Zombie Island or WNSD.
Personally I don't think the writers intend the shows to have any real canon (Most comedy cartoons don't). But I think it is fun to see everyone else's ideas of what belongs to which continuity and what not. Really there is no wrong answers, it's something interesting to theorize on though.
Actually, What's New Scooby-Doo? made A Pup Named Scooby-Doo canon with the episode "A Terrifying Round with a Menacing Metallic Clown".
Still, we can always see SDMI as the equivalent to the Marvel's Ultimate universe.
WNSD may have linked itself to PNSD, but that is still a separate timeline from SDWAY through 13GSD.
