A new Scooby Doo stage show called “Scooby-Doo Live! Musical Mysteries” will be coming to Australia in July.

May 05, 2011 – It’s been more than 40 years since the first Scooby-Doo episode aired on television in the late 1960s.  Today, with over 360 episodes aired in 16 countries nearly 50 times per day and over 500 million DVDs sold worldwide Scooby-Doo is universally adored by boys and girls of all ages. He’s the only dog that makes scary fun, loves solving a good mystery and is totally cool.

Warner Bros. Consumer Products has announced a partnership with Life Like Touring Australia, under a licensing agreement, to produce a brand new live musical production, SCOOBY-DOO LIVE! Musical Mysteries.

Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Inc. gang have been called upon to help solve an epic mystery. It appears a trouble-making ghost is haunting a local theatre and Shaggy, Fred, Daphne, Velma and Scooby-Doo are off in the Mystery Machine to solve it!

Featuring fun new songs, including ‘What a Creepy Place’, ‘The Far-Away Phantom’ and ‘You Give Me Goosebumps On My Goosebumps,’ this rollicking live theatre show brings everyone’s favourite animated series to life in a Scooby-fun way. Filled with wacky new characters and hilarious antics, the all-new SCOOBY-DOO LIVE! Musical Mysteries will have audiences on the edge of their seats in traditional Scooby-Doo fashion from the moment the lights go down.

“Scooby-Doo is one the most beloved and iconic characters in all of popular culture and we are thrilled to be able to bring Scooby and the gang to our Australian and New Zealand fans in a way that is truly spectacular, with a live show that the entire family will love,” says Preston Kevin Lewis, Managing Director, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Australia and New Zealand.

“We are delighted to be working with Life Like Touring to bring SCOOBY-DOO LIVE! Musical Mysteries to cities around the nation beginning in July this year. This fantastic new live touring show gives more fans in regional and metropolitan Australia the opportunity to experience the fun and mystery of Scooby-Doo at a theatre close to home,” says Andrew Bromell, Senior Licensing Manager – Retail & Themed Entertainment, Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Australia.

Life Like Touring Australia/Entertainment Store Group has been delivering quality live family entertainment to Australian and New Zealand audiences for more than 10 years.  During this time, this Melbourne-born production company has written, produced and toured live theatre shows for many of the biggest brands in children’s entertainment, not only in major cities but in many remote and regional areas often overlooked by touring productions.

The latest animated television series, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, can be seen daily on Cartoon Network in 2.9 million homes throughout Australia and New Zealand.

  1. Why can they never do this kind of stuff here in the US?

It has always bugged me that one country creates something then another gets the stage show(scooby created in the US, Australia gets the stage show) or theme park(harry potter created in the UK, USA has the theme park), makes no sense to me.

  2. And what the hell is that supposed to mean?

Ya know talking to you is like p**sing into a fan, you come away wondering "why did I even bother doing that?"

  3. Why am I not Australian?!
This is awesome! Musicals in general are awesome, so to have a Scooby-centric one-- well that's super-exciting! I'll be on the lookout this summer for videos on YouTube in relation to this!

  4. We did. I saw a mystery show at Universal (in FL) when I was a kid (maybe 10-early teens) it was fricking adorable! Velma and Shaggy and Scooby were at her Uncles house investigating a Mystery (Daph and Fred were down at the Van that had a flat or some shit) and Velma locked Shaggy and Scooby in the attic with her to solve the mystery. It was absolutely adorkable.

  5. @DJ Rocca, that sounds like a lot of fun.

Based on what you said I'll say, why can't we get a traveling scooby stage show here in the US?
Cause I'm purty sure there hasn't ever been one in missouri or illinois.

  6. I'M GOING! The only reason we get it here is because we're better 😀 and we get the scooby-coaster cos the film was made here 😀

  7. Yeah's there's probably some logical reasoning why it isn't in the USA. Plus in the past we've had stage shows. More than likely the touring company changes countries each year and makes the rounds, last year England had a Scooby Doo stage show so it seems like only a matter of time before it happens here again.

  8. Pathetic coment, that one about "Is made here, so...".

That's the kind of person that causes wars. That tought of "what's ours, what's mine"... OPEN your f"""ing minds, about culture, about the world. Scooby Doo is not an US creation at all, is US AND japanese (Iwao Takamoto anyone?). And it was created for the WORLD. Not just for you..

  9. Well, I'm sure Scooby-Doom wasn't trying start a flame war with his comment, Ilma. Lol.

I wanna go on that Scooby coaster:{ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nwLtwrUL7PI

  10. Yeahhhh, I was just wondering why the country of origin can't get some cool stuff to.

No need to jump down my throat!

  11. Yeah don't worry Scooby-Doom, Ilma is just the type to blow everything out of context and stir things up.

Also I should point out to Ilma that Takamoto may have been of Japanese descent, but he was an American. Therefore his drawings were America both in name and in style. SD had an American style of animation, not a Japanese style. Plus, the characters themselves were created by American writers and H-B. So no, Scooby-Doo is American and it belongs to America.

The problem with Misery Stink is that it's shown in Australia and Canada and God knows where else, and the "writers" seem to be pandering to the lower standards of "humour" and decency that are present in Britain, Canada, and elsewhere.

I say keep SD American with the high standards of American society and let the other countries adapt to our superior comedy and storylines. Believe it!

  12. How is brit humor worse or dirtier then american?

We came up with the hangover, ya know the highest grossing R rated comedy of all time? A lot of that was dirty joke, and not good ones at that.

I like to think were all on the same playing field, none better, none worse.

  13. Scooby-Doom: "How is brit humor worse or dirtier then american?"

Benny Hill anyone? Now I admit Benny Hill was funny, but very dirty. Monty Python was also funny but dirty. However, both of these have a different type of "funny" to them compared to America, and neither were as funny as American shows such as The Beverly Hillbillies, Green Acres, The Three Stooges, The Dukes of Hazard, etc.

Other so-called "comedy" shows in such countries are often really odd and are called "funny" based on their weirdness. They often play off of smut/innuendo, satire, parent/child conflicts, mocking current events/situations, etc. All of which are present in Misery Stink.

Scooby-Doom: "We came up with the hangover, ya know the highest grossing R rated comedy of all time? A lot of that was dirty joke, and not good ones at that."

That's adult only stuff. I'm talking general shows on TV.

Scooby-Doom: "I like to think were all on the same playing field, none better, none worse."

Well that's just ridiculous. You ever seen what the Germans think is funny? Yeeesh!

Here's a little fact you should always remember...

America is the greatest nation on the face of the Earth, and Americans are the greatest civilization to have ever existed! Believe it!

  14. Oh dear lord!
    I just...I-I-I just can't do this. I can't get into a political debate.
But that is all just a matter of opinion.

  15. Believe It!, I think you're getting patriotism confused with fact.
In fact, the more I see you time, the more abundantly clear it is to me that you can't or won't distinguish fact from opinion...

How about, we can all agree that Scooby-Doo is a wonderful cartoon, and leave it at that, without putting down other countries and/or trying to come up with flawed definitions of what "is" and "isn't" humor.
    Really, now.

  17. Who's seen Siren Song?!?! SUCH a great episode! Between the Scrappy/Flim Flam references/Jokes, the monsters, and the cliff hanger?! AHH! I can't wait for the next episode!

  18. @Mike, that was a great ep!
    25 to life was hilarious.

The next ep will shine a very bright light on what is goin' on in crystal cove.

  19. ^Aw that episode sucked! Making fun of Flim Flam is one thing, but not poor Scrappy. If it weren't for Scrappy, there would probably be no Misery Stink.

    ...

    Uh, wait a second...

*Ahem* Um, anyway... Scrappy saved the series from early cancellation, and thanks to him SD went on for about 6 more seasons, three of which included the very awesome Shaggy+Daphne relationship. Believe it!

So for SDMI to mock Scrappy and kick him aside like some joke is lower than low. The SDMI "writers" couldn't hold a candle to Scrappy-Doo's shear awesomeness.

The rest of the episode was convoluted and nonsensical as always, and the 13GSD reference was unnecessary and will probably just confuse the Scooby-n00bies. They'll probably think 13GSD took place in that one year time frame Fred said he spent at trapper's camp.

Also, almost the entire plot was stolen from NSDM's "Scoo-by or Not Scoo-by" where Shaggy, Daphne, and the dogs stop the oil stealing scheme of two people who dress up in sea monster outfits similar to the ones shown in this episode.

You all should know that these "writers" steal a lot of things from other shows and other people's works. By far the worst SD series ever, including Get a Clue.

Though I do agree that the Hanna-Barbera Scooby-Doo seasons were great, Warner Bros has really screwed the pooch.

Geez Believe It. No offense, but get a sense of humor.

  21. The problem is that I do have a sense of humor, an extremely heightened sense in fact. That's why the lame "jokes" and toilet "humor" of Misery Stink don't amuse me.

    Likes(0)Dislikes(0)
  22. Oh i get it. Believeit is a troll. Shut up dude. The points you're making to anger us don't even have any ground in truth. Mystery Inc doesn't even make toilet humor jokes, a lot of their humor is actually a little high end/tongue in cheek. I'm not even going to acknowledge your scrappy comments.

It's sad that you have nothing else to do with your life than troll a scooby doo fan page.

  23. You guys are right. I'm just saying stoopid things to make you guys agngry because i don't really have anything else to do with my time. I'm sorry everyone. I'm just as annoying as Scrappy. I won't come around here anymore.

  24. ^Poser.

SpiderScooby says: "Heightened sense in fact? WTF does that even mean?"

No, I was saying I have a heightened sense (of humor) *pause* in fact (as a matter of fact).

Mike says: "Oh i get it. Believeit is a troll."

Well if I'm a troll then I guess that makes you a fairy. Are you a fairy Mike?

Mike says: "Shut up dude. The points you’re making to anger us don’t even have any ground in truth. Mystery Inc doesn’t even make toilet humor jokes, a lot of their humor is actually a little high end/tongue in cheek."

*Cracks knuckles* The fisherman in this episode says the fog is as thick as "sea poup" or "see poop". There's also VanGhoul who they had say he had to tinkle all the time. There was Shaggy saying he needed to "oui oui" or "wee wee" at the French restaraunt, then Daphne said something later about that kind of food giving her mother "the squeakers". Now what Mike? You need more examples?

Mike says: "I’m not even going to acknowledge your scrappy comments."

Yeah, cuz you have nothing to say against the awesomeness of Scrappy-Doo. All you Scrappy-haters have absolutely no reason to hate him. It's just that a few people found him annoying and think he ruined the series. So they bash him and then other people jump on the bandwagon because they think it's the majority opinion.

Mike says: "It’s sad that you have nothing else to do with your life than troll a scooby doo fan page."

I'm posting my honest opinion. What about you? Arguing with someone you think is a troll? What does that say about you man? And just who was it that posed as me in the post before this? YOU, hypocrite!

  25. OMG! I just can't believe what I just read...

"Scooby-Doo is American and it belongs to America"

First: study a little, USA is NOT "America", if Scooby is an "american" show, so, Scooby is from US, from Mexico, from Brazil, . . . We're all "America".

"The problem with Misery Stink is that it’s shown in Australia and Canada and God knows where else"

GOSH! You're pathetic. ALL the Scooby Shows are in almost everywhere around the world. So as the others countrys show. US are the only stupid country that are not into other cultures. Remakes, reboots, just to stupid persons like could watch it in "english". YOU stink, not Mystery Incorporated. Patriotic Dumbass.

  27. @Ilma, it's quite alright, I understand we're all ready to jump at a basher (^look 3 posts above this^) but I will never bash scooby, only in a constructive way, except for get a clue (seriously, that was bad), I even like scrappy (though he is annoying).

@believe it, I have to ask, what in the blue hell is "*cracks knuckles*" supposed to mean?
I hope that's not a threat, cause we don't take to kindly to those around here.

  29. Ilma says: "First: study a little, USA is NOT “America”, if Scooby is an “american” show, so, Scooby is from US, from Mexico, from Brazil, . . . We’re all “America”.

WRONG! Just because the word "America" appears in the names of two continents doesn't mean we're all "America". Look at the country names would you? Does Canada have "America" in its name? How about Mexico? Cuba? Panama? No? Well which one does?

Say it with me now... The United States of... what?

    AMERICA?!?!?!

Well wha'da ya know? The U.S. IS America. The only America.

Ilma says: "GOSH! You’re pathetic. ALL the Scooby Shows are in almost everywhere around the world."

Right, but not all at once. My point is that Misery Stink was made to appear in all countries within a similar time frame. The old school Scooby episodes were made FOR America. Then, due to its popularity it was released in other countries. In that case, these other countries were watching an American cartoon. In Misery Stink's case these countries of the world are watching a cartoon that was made for various world countries, not America specifically.

As such the show reflects the poorer quality standards of countries other than the great U.S. of A!

Ilma says: "So as the others countrys show. US are the only stupid country that are not into other cultures."

America will import stuff from other countries, just so long as it is of high quality.

Scooby-Doom says: "...but I will never bash scooby, only in a constructive way, except for get a clue (seriously, that was bad), I even like scrappy (though he is annoying)."

I love how you refute your own stance. I am not bashing Scooby. I am bashing Misery Stink because that show is bashing Scooby. Really, the show is just one big parody that mocks Scooby-Doo.

Scooby-Doom says: "I have to ask, what in the blue hell is “*cracks knuckles*” supposed to mean?"

That is an action that is usually done right before someone tries to do something important, or start a fight. Clearly I was not starting a fight, but I was preparing to prove Mike wrong about the toilet humor in SDMI, WHICH I DID BTW.

Scooby-Doom says: "I hope that’s not a threat, cause we don’t take to kindly to those around here."

Except when they're directed at me.

Mike says: "lol believeit you’re just a loser, i’m not even going to respond to any more of your comments"

Yeah, because you can't prove me wrong.

LOOOOOOOOL!!! SO, EUROPE doesn't exist!? 'Cause there's not even ONE country with EUROPE in their names. Paris's what? EUROPE. Roma's what? EUROPE.

The same... Mexico is America, Cuba is America, Canada is America. ASSHOLE. Study a little baby, study. You're not AMERICAN, we're all americans, you're the only people that doesn't have a real name like "brazilians", "mexicans"... 'Cause AMERICANS, we all are.

And NO, Iwao Takamoto was born in Japan, he's NOT american.

  31. @believe it, how am I refuting my own stance?

Your not trying to start a fight? Really?
When ever you post it turns into you repeating to same crap over and over again, trying to start something.

Did you lose a bet or something?
Is that why you come around here busting everybodies balls?

You bring on the threats by being an immovable fool, you want to force your opinion on every one then have the nerve to call some one else hilter when they tell you theirs and you don't agree and try to start a argument? (Yeah I saw that, ya moron!)

Why do you feel your better then everyone else?
Cause I have a news flash! Your not, we have a good group here and you want to alienate them by being an ass, GO AWAY!

  33. How do you know I, or SpiderScooby for that matter, haven't talked Ilma?

I didn't refute a thing, I make it clear my opinions are just that opinions.
I don't think what I say is scientific fact, like you.

I'm delusional? You attack anyone with a differing OPINION, then claim to be kind?
The simple fact that you were banned once should be a hint, along with the fact that everyone tells you, we are all tired of your crap.
Remember what I said about fan and a certain body fluid? Yeah!
    I'm done here.
I won't give you the satisfaction you troll.

  34. "No I called Spider-Scooby that when she deleted my post and blocked my username and/or email from posting."

And I should have banned you again when you said that. But I thought I'd give you one more chance, but that doesn't look like that's gonna happen. No Believe It, you're not merely posting your opinion, but you insult anyone who tries to stand up to your rants. Considering you referred to me as a nazi, you're doing more than "posting your opinion". You also told another member to screw themselves. I don't appreciate that, and that was completely uncalled for. You think your opinion is better than everyone else, go create your own site, but don't spam mine with that "n""i" bull crap.

Anyways, I'm gonna stop worryin' about this, I'm off to the movies anyways 😀

If your gonna have spoilers throw up a warning but, What all did you like about ep 20 mike?

  37. I think 20 might be my new favorite episode!
All of the things you stated were what give it that honor.
The gang got along well enough for once.

  38. Wow I missed quite the argument, and I had some good points I could have contributed... Oh well there's always the inevitable next time.

Anyways, I thought ep20 was really great, it was a pretty interesting mystery. I was a bit annoyed with the Velma plot line, Usually I don't mind Velma's behavior but this time it was unwittingly creepy, I mean she was really obsessed with that woman (sort of like a stalker).

    Yeah she was...a bit scary.

  40. I got a weird vibe from velma and the mermaid. but i think it was just to show how lonely velma had been. the thing that annoyed me about the protesters as the monsters (other than the fact that their motivation was so backwards) was that how did they become such great swimmers? That's the one thing that's been fairly consistent with this show, the explanations are a little far-fetched but i'm ok with it because its kind of humorous.

    Likes(0)Dislikes(0)
  41. Yeah, it would be different if the motivation was highly logical every week then out of the blue the baddie says "I did it to get my wifes mom to like me after I knocked her dead mother's ashes into the toilet to see what would happen" hehehehehehe.
