Dax Shepard To Co-Direct “S. C. O. O. B.”
The Scooby-Doo Reboot has found a new co-director in Dax Shepard. The “Parenthood” and “Robot Chicken” star will co-direct with Tony Cervone, and will help write the screenplay with Matt Lieberman.
Jesse Ehrman, who oversaw the production of Shepard’s upcoming action comedy “CHiPs” for the studio and is also overseeing “Scooby-Doo,” suggested that Shepard come in to meet with execs on the project after he expressed interest in the property. The studio had always envisioned two directors tackling the film.
S. C. O. O. B. is set for a September 21st, 2018 release.

I'm very interested to see where this goes. I hope it's fresh and new while also maintaining a happy balance of familiarity. Something with a dark edge too would be nice but also really funny. I've recently been re-watching some of the classics. Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, Alien Invaders, Cyber Chase. That sort of thing and trying to figure out what makes those movies timeless. I think it's the creative risks that the directors took. Looking forward to seeing a trailer soon (hopefully!)
