Scott Menville Voicing Shaggy in Scooby Doo: Camp Scare?
Voice Actors In The News has some new tidbits about the voice cast for the next Direct to DVD Scooby movie, Scooby Doo: Camp Scare. Frank Weilker{Scooby and Fred}, Grey Delisle{Daphne}, and Mindy Cohn{Velma} of course will be reprising their roles in the movie. But more interesting, though, is the supporting cast, which includes Scott Menville. Menville voiced Shaggy in Shaggy and Scooby Doo: Get A Clue!. It looks like he will be voicing Shaggy in Camp Scare instead of Matthew Lillard{who Voice Actors In The News also comfirms as Shaggy for Scooby Doo: Mystery Inc}. I didn’t particularly care for Scott Menville’s Shaggy, which could be due to my dislike of Get A Clue!. I would’ve prefered Matthew Lillard or even Scott Innes to do the voice. Actually, according to some of the CN production workers, Matt Lillard will be voicing Shaggy Rogers from now on, unless he retires or foregoes his contract. Maybe Scott Menville is playing a relative of Shaggy's or something.
They should of gave the role to Scott Innes. In my opinion, he would have been by far the best replacement. He did an excellent job in Witch's Ghost, Alien Invaders, and Cyber Chase.
Mathew Lilliard does a good job as Shaggy in the first two live-action movies, but I don't think his voice fits the animated Shaggy.
