Scooby Stuff I’d Like To See On DVD

WB has released many great Scooby Doo DVDs over the years, but there are still many Scooby episodes left unreleased. Here the three Scooby series I’d like to see on DVD.

More after the jump.

WB has released many great Scooby Doo DVDs over the years, but there are still many Scooby episodes left unreleased. Here the three Scooby series I’d like to see on DVD.

3. Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo

Whether you like or {probably} hate him, Scrappy Doo certainly has become the most hated character in the Scooby Doo universe. And while these episodes were not the greatest, it would still be nice to see these.

2. The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo

This was one of the weaker Scooby Doo series, but it certainly had an interesting premise. Scooby and Shaggy unwittingly open the Chest of Demons, unleashing thirteen of the most terifying ghosts on the face of the earth. The ghosts can only be returned to the chest by those who originally set them free. Aided by Vincent Van Ghoul{voiced by Vincent Price}, Mystery, Inc embark on a worldwide quest to recapture them before they wreak irreversible havoc upon the world.

1. The New Scooby Doo Mysteries

This is, in my opinion, the best of the Scrappy Doo series. This, like 13 Ghosts, only featured Scooby, Shaggy, Daphne, and Scrappy{though Fred and Velma would make a apperance in one episode}. This series also has the best Scooby christmas episode to date “A Nutcracker Scoob”{which has been released on DVD}.

Honerable Mentions

The Scooby Doo Project

During a Scooby Doo marathon in 2001, Cartoon Network aired a nine minute special called The Scooby Doo Project, basicly a parody of the Blair Witch Project. While this certainly doesn’t deserve a DVD on it’s own, it would be cool to see it as a extra.

Scooby Doo 2 on Blu-Ray

While it is already out on DVD, it would be nice to see Scooby Doo 2 make it to Blu-Ray, considering the first Scooby movie is already out and Scooby 3 is also coming out on Blu-Ray.

Shaggy and Scooby Doo: Get A Clue

You can call this a dishonerable mention if you want. From it’s terrible theme song{see below} to it’s HORRIBLE animation, this is the worst Scooby series to date{yes, even worse than Scrappy}. You’re probably asking why I would want this on DVD. simple.  WB has so far released two volumes of Get A Clue! and haven’t released anything new for over a year. And if there’s one thing I hate more than this series is when studios start releasing TV shows on DVD and then stop{see Disney’s animated shows like Gargoyles and Ducktales}.

  1. Yeah, I'm really wanting them to release more Scooby shows too. One that I particularly want is Scooby's All Star Olympics. They released a volume of it last month, so maybe there's hope for a season set.

And I actually kind of like Scrappy. I don't see why he is hated so much. 😀

  2. Yeah, it's about time they release a new boxset. WB did release Volume 2 of Scooby’s All Stars as a Target Exclusive so maybe we'll see a season set for that soon too.

Well, I'm not a Scrappy hater, I just find him annoying.

  3. Cool, I didn't know they released a Vol 2 at Target. But I'm going to wait and see if they release a season set, rather than buying the volumes.

I'm glad that Scrappy isn't in a lot of the series. But I don't mind him being in some of it.

  5. 13 ghosts is on DVD but I really wish they would put more scrappy episodes on DVD, he was my favorite character and saved the show, nobody gives him enough credit. Making him evil was such a cheap shot

  6. ZONIKS! Oh please Warner Bros Home Entertainment can't you guys digitally restored and remastered more Scooby shows like the Scrappy Doo era 1979-1989 on DVD for the first time for Scrappy fans, thanks.
