New Details & Trailer for “Curse of the Speed Demon”

IGN has revealed the first trailer and official release date for Scooby-Doo! and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon. Speed Demon will be released on Blu-ray. DVD, and Digital HD on August 9th, and will include two bonus episodes and a behind-the-scenes segment featuring Scooby-Doo Monster Jam truck drivers.

iTunes has detailed the full cast as well. The movie will feature a array of WWE stars, including:

Michael Cole
El Torito
Kofi Kingston
Stephanie McMahon
The Miz
Dusty Rhodes
Triple H
Mr. McMahon

iTunes also lists Kate Micucci as the voice of Velma, despite the fact that Mindy Cohn tweeted last year that she would continue to voice Velma in the DTV movies.

It’s pedal to the metal as Scooby-Doo, Shaggy and the gang team up with the superstars of WWE in this hi-octane, original movie! When Scooby and Mystery Inc. visit an off-road racing competition, it’s not long before strange events start to occur. A mysterious phantom racer, known only as Inferno, is causing chaos and determined to sabotage the race. It’s up Scooby-Doo, Shaggy and their new driving partner, The Undertaker, to save the race and solve the mystery. Along with other WWE superstars such as Triple H, Paige and Sheamus, it’s time to start your engine and your appetite because Scooby-Doo and WWE are chasing down adventure and laughs just for you!

Looks decent enough, but I'm really wondering how well this gimmick will sell a second time.

I'm not really that surprised about Kate Micucci apparently voicing Velma. She provided Velma's voice in the Lego DTV too, so I was wondering if she'd be doing this one as well.

The end of the trailer includes Kate among the cast.

I imagine since Kate is doing the Be Cool series, LEGO web shorts, and the LEGO DTV, it was only a matter of time before WB decided to just give the role properly to her. Mindy did do LEGO Dimensions, so there's some truth to what she stated, but it seems things did not go entirely according to plan.

All I know is Kate will not sound right coming from Velma's current DTV model. It will be the worst part of the film.

Where's John Cena? He should be in there. Also, it seems that some familiar faces to Mystery, Inc. will be appearing.

Ha ha ha. Vince McMahon, Triple H, and the Miz already know Mystery, Inc. And John Cena is the franchise player of the WWE.
