Two More Scooby Movies Coming To Blu-Ray

Posted by

Looks like two more animated Scooby movies will be making their way to Blu-Ray. Recently, ScoobyFan reader Travis pointed me to a couple listings on Amazon’s Canada site for Scooby-Doo! and the Legend of the Vampire and Scooby-Doo! and the Monster of Mexico. Amazon lists a release date of October 4th, but are both show as “out of stock”. That date is probably incorrect, however, as another Canadian store, Cineplex, lists a release date for Apirl 3rd of next year. No word on a US release, but most likely these will have the same release date as in Canada. If you don’t want to wait, apparently these are already out in Mexico as double features with Scooby-Doo! and the Cyber Chase and Aloha! Scooby-Doo. Stay tuned and I’ll keep you updated.

I should also mention, if Aloha and Cyber Chase are anyhing to go by, these will most likely be in their correct aspect ratios of 1.78.1{as opposed to the cropped 4.3 DVDs} and will probably have the same extras from the DVDs.

  2. Scooby-Doom says:

    Cool!
I’m glad there releasing some of the stuff that was done in 16×9 instead of yet another compilation set.
I hope we get abracadabra-doo on blu soon.

  3. Kirben says:

I gave up waiting for the Blu-Ray releases in Canada or USA, and I ended up ordering the Spanish Blu-Rays. Since the Blu-Rays releases in Mexico only seem to be available as double packs (bundled with Aloha or Cyber Chase).

The Blu-Ray menus are in English, the movies are in the correct aspect ratios (widescreen), and all the extras have been ported over. The audio/video is excellent, and they are well worth upgrading to the Blu-Rays.
