snacktracks

Note: I did a article similar to this back in the day, but I’ve decided to update it and expand it a bit to include not just DVDs.

.Sure, there has been a lot of Scooby products released over the years, some good, some bad. But quite frankly, there some things we haven’t gotten. Many unreleased episodes and music for example. Here are three Scooby products I would like to see.

1. Season Sets of Scooby and Scrappy Doo.

Sure, 13 Ghosts and a few random episodes of Scooby and Scrappy Doo are out on DVD, but when are we going to get them in season sets? These “13 Spooky Tales” DVDs have been pretty good, but I’m sure I speak for most fans when I say we would much prefer whole seasons to be released.

2. A new soundtrack.

Scooby-Doo’s Snack Tracks was a fantastic CD, but it was missing a few things, most notably from Scooby and Scrappy Doo and A Pup Named Scooby-Doo. I would like to see something more definitive released. I would also love to see a SD:MI related soundtrack.

3. More Action Figures.

Back in the early 2000’s, we got figures based not only on the Scooby gang, but classic villains as well. I would love to see a new line released that features some more classic villains{Spooky Space Kook anyone?}.

So what do you think? Is there anything you would like to see? Post in the comments below!

  1. Well, I don't actually think they will release Scrappy season sets (maybe only "The New Scooby Doo Mysteries" that doesn't give away Scrappy's appearance by the title, they did sth similar by not mentioning Scrappy in the 13 ghosts).
A soundtrack? Definitely. SDMI has some great songs and scores (http://scoobydoomysteryincorporated.tumblr.com/music), but also on Music of the Vampire, Phantosaur and many more.
I would also like to see more action figures, specifically from SDMI.

  3. I just watched "Dance of the Undead" in Spanish.
    SPOILER

Nova seems to be dead. In the end, she wakes up suddenly, says something about Nibiru and then dies, maybe. I think she says: "Nibiru. Nibiru is coming."

    END OF SPOILER

The Hex Girls do appear with two new outfits and their classic one. The songs are:
    1. Good Bad Girls
    2. Yer Dead Right Mate
    3. Who Do Voodoo (as it was in "Scooby Doo! and the Legend of the Vampire")
    4. Words Get Stuck in My Throat (previously credited as "Stuck in My Throat" in the Hunumgonauts episode.

  4. I'm not really keen on spoilers. I get that enough on Scoobypedia. I can imagine that people are going to say what happens on the last three. I'll probably keep away for while if that happens.

  5. Shaggy and Scooby actually save the day for a change? That's cool. Just like old times.

  6. That's right folks! With those two Laff-A-Lympics episodes I just watched, I have seen every Scooby episode ever made! Oh, no, I don't. I still have SDMi eps 46-52 and "Haunted Holidays"! Damn.

  8. Great episode, Pericles getting mad. I think he'll kill Mr. E as well. But I can clearly hear him say "And I would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for you meddling kids!" in the end.

  9. Both episodes wer wesome, especilly Dance of the Undead, where we get to see the Hex Girls once again they even helped them solve another part of the mystery this time.

    (Warning SPOILERS AHEAD)

The Devouring was also pretty cool, and liked the fact th Perices is now more maniacal than ever... something tells me that if Nibiru doesn't kill him, Scooby will. Plus, I'v been asking myself if Brad and Judy aren't being controlled by Pericles somehow... I mean,he admitted that he had managed to find way to poison Mr. E, so, what prevents him from manipulatng those two against their will with some kind of technology? That would explain why they attacked the chopper, knowing Fred was inside it.

    What do you think?

  10. ^I think if they ever cared about Fred they would not have left him behind in Crystal Cove in the first place.

Anyway, here are 3 Scooby products I would like to see.

    1. An epic Scooby-Doo video game where you can play as any character you want and make choices for them. The game would involve complex mysteries and fun platforming. I would even accept this in the form of an SDMI setting. Crystal Cove Online was kind of fun, and better than the show in many ways.

    2. A Scooby-Doo anime, so long as it is the right style of artwork and humor.

    3. A reboot or continuation of 13GSD.

  11. 'What's New Scooby Doo?' on Blu-Ray, so we can finally see the series in widescreen.

  12. ^Widescreen has nothing to do with Blu-Ray. You could see WNSD in widescreen right now if they made a widescreen version of it, which I don't think they did.

  13. Warner Bros cropped many of the cartoon series when released on DVD, and Blu-Ray is the only chance to see these series released in widescreen. Since Warner Bros never makes change when re-releasing cartoon series on DVD, like the upcoming re-releases of 'What's New Scooby Doo?' on DVD on 19th March 2013, which is just another repackage.

The third season of 'What's New Scooby Doo?' what shown in true widescreen (not cropped) on TV in Australia, and I suspect the complete series was produced for widescreen.

  14. Maybe, or maybe just that season. In any case, they could crop it, but would it really be widescreen in that case? I would see it as reduced screen to be honest.

  15. Well, many of WB's shows from that time period{The Batman, Loonitics Unleashed} were produced in 16x9 and cropped for DVD. I'm willing to bet WNSD was too. Unfortunately, there's really no way to confirm that since WNSD has never been made available digitally.

  16. I did some comparisons of the older DTVs over at ScoobyAddicts. http://scoobyaddicts.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1634&page=2#23725

  17. Duck Dodgers and Xiaolin Showdown were produced for widescreen, and were the closest to when 'What New Scooby Doo?' was originally shown.

It is possible the complete series of 'What New Scooby Doo?' was shown in widescreen on Nine Network in Australia, if we could find anyone with digital recording of the series from that long ago. Unfortunately I switched to digital TV around mid 2007, so I only got the chance to confirm season 3 via the repeats.

I wonder if 'What New Scooby Doo?' was shown in widescreen anywhere else on TV around the world? maybe it is still be shown in widescreen on TV somewhere?
