Time to take a look back at the year that was 2014, which I thought was pretty decent. We got two great movies(Wrestlemania Mystery and Frankencreepy), some fun crossovers in Scooby-Doo! Team-Up, and a announcement of a new series. Of course, the one major downside was the tragic passing of Casey Kasem.

Wrestlemania Mystery:

Wrestlemania Mystery was a nice surprise. I was not expecting to like this one as much as I did considering I’m not a wrestling fan, but it turned out to be a really entertaining movie.

Frankencreepy:

Frankencreepy is easily one of the best Scooby movie in years, mainly due to it’s twist ending. I liked that they put their own twist on the Frankenstein story. It wasn’t without it’s issues though. It could definitely do with less quick cuts and Fred being so obsessed with the Mystery Machine.

Scooby-Doo! Goal:

Scooby-Doo! Goal was probably my least favorite movie/special of the year. Between the so-so animation, the soccer theme, and a plot and villain that were just not all that interesting, it’s safe to say this is one I won’t be returning to often. Though I can’t say I completely hated it, there wasn’t enough here to keep me interested.

Scooby-Doo Team-Up:

Team-Ip #4 Review Team-Up #5 Review

2014 was the year of the team-ups. Scooby-Doo! Team-Up has been a lot of fun, especially the issues with Batman and the Super Friends. The only issue I did not care for was the Teen Titans issue.. Also it’s nice to see that Team-Up will be utilizing characters other than superheroes.

News:
On June 17th, it was reported that Warner Bros. was working on a theatrical reboot of Scooby-Doo. Even though we haven’t heard anything since, I still feel this could very well end up being live action, as opposed to the report a year earlier about a animated movie being in delveopment. Whatever the case, it’s nice to know we could be seeing the Scooby gang on the big screen again very soon.

Of course I couldn’t do this year in review without mentioning the passing of Casey Kasem. Kasem was THE definitive voice of Shaggy. Sadly, the events surrounding his death have been unfortunate. But may he finally rest in peace. He will be sorely missed.

And finally, we have the announcement of Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!. Honestly, I am not sure how I feel about this series yet. A more comedic take on Scooby could be good, but I’m worried that it will outstay it’s welcome like with What’s New Scooby-Doo. And I’m not too fond of the animation either.

Predictions for 2014/2015:

YearInReview5
Looking back at my predictions for 2014, I got 1/3 right. I correctly guessed we would get a announcement of a new series. But we did not get a release date for the new movie despite the news we heard back in June. We also did not see season sets of Scrappy-Doo or a blu-ray release of Mystery Incorporated(no surprise there). So here are my guesses for 2015:

-WB will announce that it is moving ahead with it’s Scooby-Doo reboot, and it will be live action.
Be Cool, Scooby-Doo! will premiere to generally favorable reviews, but will ultimately end up canceled after a season or two.
-A blu-ray version of Moon Monster Madness will end up as a store exclusive.
Scooby-Doo! Team-Up will become a monthly series.

So what are you most looking forward to in 2015?
